How me.you works
Straightforward, intentional, and entirely browser-based. Here is exactly what happens when you join - No algorithm mystery, no hidden paywalls.
The seven steps
Create your profile
Sign up with your email address. We ask for your display name, age, location, gender identity, and relationship intent. Then add photos, write a short bio, and choose a few prompts that show who you actually are - Not a list of hobbies, but real answers to real questions.
Profiles are not public by default. Other members can only view your profile when you like them first, or when they find you through the discovery feed after you appear there.
Verify your email
We send a verification link to the email address you signed up with. Click it to activate your account. Every active member on me.you has verified their email address - This protects the community from fake and bot accounts.
Did not receive the email? Check your spam folder. If it is not there, request a new verification link from your account settings page.
Browse and discover
On desktop, browse profiles in a scrollable list with photos, bios, and interests visible at a glance. On mobile, swipe through a card-based view. Apply filters for age range, distance, relationship intent, and interests to focus on people worth your attention.
Discovery shows recently active verified members who have not already appeared in your queue. It refreshes as new members join.
Like or pass
When you find someone interesting, like their profile. When you are not feeling it, pass. Passes are silent - The other person is not notified. Likes are also silent until they are mutual.
You can review who has already liked your profile from your dashboard. This lets you identify mutual interest before going through discovery yourself.
Match when it is mutual
When two people both like each other, that is a match. You will both be notified at the same time. Only at this point does messaging become available between you. This keeps every conversation intentional - No unsolicited contact, ever.
If someone you liked does not like you back, their profile simply will not appear in your matches. There are no rejection notifications sent to either side.
Message and connect
Open the match in your messages and say hello. The first message is often the hardest - Use our first message generator if you want a starting point. Take your time. Move at a pace that feels right for both of you.
All messages happen inside me.you, in your browser. There is no need to move to another platform. Your message history is preserved and private.
Meet in real life
When it feels right, suggest meeting in person. Keep it low-pressure, public, and enjoyable. Read our first date ideas guide for specific suggestions tailored to different personalities and situations.
Always meet somewhere public for a first date. Tell a friend where you are going and when to expect you back. Trust your instincts - They exist for a reason.
