3. How we use your data
We use your data to operate the platform: creating and displaying your profile, matching you with other members, delivering messages, running the diary and tools features, and maintaining account security.
We use usage data to understand how features are used and to make the product better. We do not sell your data to advertisers. We do not use your data to show you targeted advertisements.
We may use your email address to send you notifications about matches, messages, and account activity. You can control notification preferences from your account settings.
4. What other members can see
Other members can see your display name, photos, bio, prompt answers, and interests — depending on your profile visibility setting. Your email address is never shown to other members. Your age is shown as a range, not as an exact birthdate.
Members you have matched with can see your messages to them. Members who have liked you can see your profile if your visibility is set to members-only or public.
You control your profile visibility at all times from your account settings. You can set it to private (visible only to you), members-only, or public (indexed by search engines).
5. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you deactivate your account, your data is preserved but your profile is hidden from other members. You can reactivate at any time.
If you delete your account permanently, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form for analytics purposes. Moderation records may be retained longer where required for safety purposes.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate data, to request deletion of your data, to object to certain uses of your data, and to data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request.

8. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the platform, including email delivery and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
