Upload your first profile photo
-
1
Complete the profile questions in onboarding and continue to the photo step.
-
2
Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP file from your device.
-
3
Check that the photo opens normally on your device and shows you clearly.
-
4
Submit the image. The site resizes large images to fit within 1,000 by 1,000 pixels and saves an optimised copy.
-
5
Continue to the next-steps page. Your profile becomes visible with the image after the required approval state is complete.
Add, reorder, or remove photos later
After onboarding, open your profile settings to manage the gallery. An account can hold up to five photos: one primary image and four additional images. If the gallery is full, delete an existing photo before uploading another one.
The primary photo is the image used first on your profile. You can choose a different approved image as primary and reorder the gallery. If you delete the current primary photo, another remaining image is promoted so the profile is not left without a lead image.
Why does a photo say pending?
New profile photos are stored with a pending moderation status. Pending means the file was received but has not yet been approved for public display. The status is not a judgement about your account, and the code does not promise a fixed review time.
Choose a recent image that clearly represents you. Avoid screenshots containing contact details, images of another person presented as you, or material that conflicts with the community rules. Read the platform community guidelines before replacing a rejected image.
What to check if an upload fails
- Confirm that the filename ends in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .webp.
- Open the image locally to make sure it is a valid image rather than a renamed document or damaged file.
- Try an image below the configured upload limit; the default server request limit is 10 MB, but deployment settings can change it.
- If you already have five photos, remove one before trying again.
- Retry from a current browser after refreshing the profile page.
- If the problem continues, use the contact page and include the browser, device, file type, and error shown.
