What is the me.you diary feature?
The diary is a writing space for members to share their thoughts, experiences, and reflections about dating. Entries can be anything — an account of a first date, thoughts on the modern dating landscape, advice based on personal experience, or a moment of introspection you want to record for yourself.
The diary is separate from your dating profile. Someone reading your diary entries is not the same as viewing your profile — they are two different parts of the platform, and the diary is a richer, more personal form of expression than a bio or prompt answer.
How to write and publish an entry
- 1 Log in and go to your Dashboard.
- 2 Click "My Diary" in the sidebar or navigation.
- 3 Click the "New entry" button.
- 4 Give your entry a title.
- 5 Write your entry in the text area. Formatting options are available in the toolbar.
- 6 Choose a visibility setting: Private, Members only, or Public.
- 7 Click "Publish" to save and publish the entry.
- 8 You can return and edit or delete the entry at any time from your diary page.
Visibility settings explained
- Private: Only you can see this entry. It will never appear to other members, in any feed, or in search results. Use this for personal notes you are not ready to share.
- Members only: Visible to any logged-in, verified me.you member. Does not appear in public search engine results. Good for sharing thoughts within the community.
- Public: Visible to anyone on the internet, including people who are not me.you members. Can be indexed by search engines. Good for writing you want to share broadly.
Can I change the visibility of an entry after publishing?
Yes. You can change the visibility of any entry at any time from your diary management page. If you published something publicly and want to restrict it to members only or make it private, you can do that. The change takes effect immediately.
Note that public entries that have already been indexed by search engines may still appear in cached search results for a short period after you make them private. This is a property of how search engine caching works, not a failure of the privacy settings. The entry will be removed from caches as they refresh, typically within a few days.
