Why me.you chose browser-first over an app

Most dating platforms build native apps because app stores provide a distribution channel and push notifications provide re-engagement. These are business incentives — not user experience improvements. me.you was designed the other way around: starting with the user experience and building the platform accordingly.

A browser-based platform means you access it when you choose to, on any device you own, without handing over device permissions, without taking up storage space, and without being pinged with notifications designed to maximise screen time rather than connection quality.

How me.you works on different devices

On desktop and laptop, me.you works in any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Brave are all fully supported. The layout is optimised for wider screens with a two-column view in the discovery feed, and a full-featured message inbox that feels like a proper messaging application.

On mobile browsers, the interface adapts to a single-column card view that is intuitive to use with your thumb. You can like, match, and message from your phone without downloading anything. Simply visit me.you in Safari or Chrome on your phone and the responsive layout takes care of the rest.

Can I add me.you to my home screen?

Yes. On both iOS and Android, you can add me.you to your home screen as a web app. On iPhone, open me.you in Safari, tap the Share button, and select "Add to Home Screen". On Android, open me.you in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, and select "Add to Home screen".

This gives you a home screen icon that launches me.you directly, without the browser address bar, so it feels very close to a native app — but without requiring an app store download or update management.

Will a native app ever be released?

There are no plans for a native iOS or Android app at this time. The browser-based approach is a core part of the platform philosophy — not a temporary constraint. The experience is designed to be complete and satisfying without an app, and future development efforts will go into improving the browser experience rather than duplicating it in a native shell.

If you have a specific experience on mobile that feels limited, reach out through the contact page. User feedback shapes the roadmap, and improving the mobile browser experience is an ongoing priority.
