How do matches work on me.you?

When two people both like each other's profile, it becomes a mutual match. Matches are the only way to start a conversation — me.you has no cold messaging.

The mutual like system

When you browse the discovery feed and like someone's profile, they are not notified. Your like is recorded silently. If that person later views your profile (either through discovery or because they can see who liked them) and likes you back, the system recognises a mutual interest and creates a match. Both people are notified at the same time.

This symmetry is intentional. It means no one person is positioned as the pursuer and no one is in a position of fielding unsolicited contact. You are only contacted by someone after you have already expressed interest in them.

Can I see who has liked me?

Yes. From your dashboard, there is a "Likes" section that shows profiles that have already liked yours. You can view these profiles and decide whether to like them back. If you do, a match is created instantly.

This feature means you do not necessarily have to wait for discovery to surface someone — if they have already liked you, you can act on it directly. Many members find that reviewing their incoming likes is the most efficient way to find mutual interest quickly.

What happens after a match is made?

When a match is created, both people receive a notification. The match appears in both members' match lists, and a messaging thread is opened between you. Either person can send the first message — there is no rule about who has to go first.

Matches remain in your match list until one person deletes the match or blocks the other. If a conversation goes nowhere, you can archive or remove the match at any time. This keeps your inbox focused on active conversations.

What happens if I pass on someone who liked me?

Passing on someone who has already liked you simply removes them from your likes list without creating a match. The other person is not notified — passes are always silent on me.you. They will not know you saw their like and passed.

This design protects both parties. It keeps rejection private and ensures that browsing and decision-making can happen without social pressure. You can pass freely without worrying about causing offence or receiving a negative reaction.
