You can block any member from their profile or from a conversation. Blocking immediately ends all contact and removes you from each other's discovery and match lists.
How to block a member
- 1 Go to the member's profile, or open a conversation with them.
- 2 Click the three-dot menu (on their profile or at the top of the conversation).
- 3 Select "Block [name]".
- 4 Confirm the action in the dialogue that appears.
- 5 The block takes effect immediately.
What blocking does
- The blocked person can no longer see your profile or find you through discovery.
- Any existing match between you is removed — the conversation disappears from both inboxes.
- They cannot like your profile, message you, or view your diary entries.
- You will not appear in their discovery feed and they will not appear in yours.
- The block is silent — the person you blocked is not notified that they have been blocked.
What blocking does not do
Blocking on me.you affects the platform only. If someone has your phone number, social media handle, or other contact details from outside the platform, blocking them on me.you will not prevent them from contacting you through those channels. In situations where you are concerned about contact outside the platform, consider your options on those platforms as well.
Blocking also does not submit a moderation report. If the person has violated the community guidelines or you believe others may be at risk from their behaviour, please also submit a report through the report system. Blocking and reporting are separate actions and both can be done together.
How to unblock someone
- 1 Go to your account Settings.
- 2 Find the "Blocked members" section.
- 3 You will see a list of members you have blocked.
- 4 Click "Unblock" next to the member you want to unblock.
- 5 Their profile will become visible to you again, but any previous match or conversation history will not be restored.
